Big sister and I were happy with the opportunity to test this pattern. We were given the very basic assignment and I chose a simple stylish look to go with it.
Then my daughter added her personality flare to complete the look.
The pattern offers a hood or button collar in addition to the simple collar, and a color blocked bodice in addition to tunic and dress lengths and button tabs at the waist.
We did the dress length with the simple collar and button tabs, making this a really fast sew.
Big sister is strutting her stuff.
And now she’s just being a toddler.
One change to the pattern is the flare out on the side. It will curve up slightly now so there won’t be this tail on the sides that you see below.
Fabric was basic. I get my cotton lycra solids from Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop because they have excellent stretch and recovery, good structure and a soft feel. The polka dots were from a Girl Charlee bargain lot, but you can find a similar higher quality knit at Raspberry Creek Fabrics, and its organic!
