Another amazing set of patterns releases from the Simple Life Pattern Company (SLPco) today. I haven’t been blogging my pattern tests lately, but I had to do this one because these shorts made it to the tip top of my favorite pattern list. Plus I’m in love with the pictures we took so I had to share hehe.
First up, the Tammy’s Tulip and Ruffle Shorts. They are REVERSIBLE! A flat front pair of summer lovelies, with an elasticized waist band that extends just in front of the side seams for perfect fitting. They are well drafted and sit so nicely with no bunching or pulling anywhere. The reversible design not only gives them dual functionality, but also hides all seams and gives them a really clean finish. The Art Gallery denim fabric makes these a classic denim short and the ruffle option adds such a lovely touch. There is a tulip version without ruffles that is a really quick sew, but I found these didn’t take too long either. Plus the ruffle makes them the perfect length for my preference. You can also substitute trim or pom-poms for the ruffle.
These shorts are my go to now. 3-4 pairs per season can get us up to 8 color options for flexibility and they shout out quality. Really, I was at the library this week and someone was raving about the girls’
handmade custom shirts. I wanted to shout out that I made the shorts too “Look at the shorts! “Don’t you love the shorts?” But I simply took it as a compliment that they wouldn’t even consider the shorts could be handmade too. 🙂
This Taylor’s top is also jam packed with options in typical SLPco fashion. Though I do believe this one has a boatload. So first off there is the shift dress, then a banded shift dress, then a gathered dress, shift top, banded shift top and gathered top (that’s what I did)…wait I’m not done. There are 3 sleeve options which is a big deal, a lot of woven dress patterns out there don’t have sleeves and many you have to buy as add-ons. With back to school just around the corner the sleeves are a must. There are two neck options, square and scoop and then the tie back closure for easy on and off and super cute detailing.
Both patterns are on sale through this Sunday (7/17) for 25% off. You can also get them bundled for steeper savings. In addition the first 50 purchases get entered into a drawing for two free patterns.
Now I would also like to point out that this was my most enjoyable photo session with this girl. She actually cooperated and smiles were natural.
I’m still not sure what motivated her. It was 100 degrees. The sun was at it’s peak and I was dripping in sweat the entire time.
I guess I’ll never know!
